On October 6, 2021 the representative of Columbia Shipmanagement Ukraine, training officer Igor Fozyekosh conducted an audit of the following aspects at National University «Odessa Maritime Academy»: maker’s approval for simulators, equipment, software, the latest update of the installed software; new projects and alternative methods of training (distance learning program), implemented during the pandemic David-19 2020/2021, as well as measures to prevent the spreading of the disease in accordance with governmental requirements; availability of first aid items and marking of safety equipment, etc. During the audit, training sessions were also attended, where the training officer had the opportunity to communicate with the teachers and cadets.
Current conditions require closer cooperation between educational institutions and shipping companies in the field of compliance with the international maritime legislation. Therefore, Columbia Shipmanagement Ukraine intends to continue the cooperation with NU “OMA” within the framework of the Maritime Union of Crewing Companies.
