III All-Ukrainian tournament on civil law and process “PRO ET CONTRA” took place on the basis of the Faculty of Economics and Law of Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov and Odessa Regional Court of Appeal on April 1-2, 2017.

The tournament took place in several stages. The participants participated in the first correspondence stage in which had to make procedural documents (including the statement of claim and statement of defence) upon a case based on real events. The second stage of tournament was full-time, was an imitation of the court session involving teams of claimant and defendant.

The jury included tutors from various law educational establishments of Odessa, lawyers and professional judges. V.L. Vishnevsky and S.V. Nemertsalova, the tutors of Maritime Law Department represented NU “OMA”.

Semifinal and final contests were held on the basis of Odessa Regional Court of Appeal.
Victoria Valah and Ekaterina Karmazina, associate professors of Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov, lawyers as well as professional judges and authors of the case judged at a contest.

In total, over the current year, 19 teams from the leading legal higher educational establishments in Odessa have registered to participate in the tournament.

Despite strong competition and worthy rivals, the team of our University became the winner of the tournament!
Team 208 of Maritime Law and Management Faculty of NU “OMA” represented by Dolia Irina, cadet of the 4th course and Bykova Oksana, cadet of the 5th course took the the 1st place! Our congratulations, the University is proud of you!
