On May 8, 2018 the 20^th Anniversary of Odessa Branch of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology in Ukraine was held in the Small Assembly Hall of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”. M.V. Miyusov, the Rector of NU “OMA” opened the meeting by welcoming the participants. The following speakers also congratulated on its fine anniversary: Paul James, Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology; V.G.Torzskiy, Honorary Secretary of the Maritime Institute of Ukraine (Department of the Maritime Institute of Great Britain in Ukraine), V.I. Lanchukovskiy, Honorary Secretary (1998-2015), Professor; S.A. Karianskiy, Honorary Secretary of Odessa Branch, Dean of Automation Faculty of NU«OMA» moderated the event.

Upon completion of the event, the members of the Odessa branch of IMarEST were presented with certificates.

Historic reference:

In 1992, Odessa State Maritime Academy and the Black Sea Basin Scientific and Technical Society for Water Transportation concluded a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Marine Engineering (IMarE). In 1998, on the basis of Odessa State Maritime Academy, a branch of this Institute was organized in Ukraine and which currently has 147 members, including more than 112 cadets.
