Membership in international organizations

NU “OMA” is one of the has been an active member of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) (headquartered in Tokyo, Japan) since its establishment in 1999. The activities of the Association are supported by the Nippon Foundation of Japan. Rector of the Academy M.V. Myusov has been a member of the Association’s executive board and head of the committee for cooperation with IMO for many years. Academy members participate in the association’s activities, projects, conferences, working groups and General Assemblies held on the premises of its member universities.

The Academy is a member of the Black Sea Association of Maritime Institutions (BSAMI), which was established in 2010 by higher education institutions in Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine in order to provide the maritime industry with highly qualified professionals. Rector of NU “OMA” is the deputy head, and for 2012-2013 years was the head of the association. Delegations of the academy have long participated in assemblies of the association, which were held at the maritime universities of different countries of the Black Sea region. Members of the association successfully cooperate in various EU-funded projects.
