With the assistance of the Senior Partner of the Black Sea Law Company Yevhen Sukachov, on October 31, 2023, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of «Human Rights at Sea» Mr. David Euan Hammond and Head of Programmes Mr. Daniel Thomas Shepherd visited National University «Odessa Maritime Academy».  

The British international organization «Human Rights at Sea» is concerned with the protection of human rights at sea and spreads its influence around the world.

Rector of NUOMA, Prof. Dr. Mykhaylo Miyusov met with British colleagues, and after that students of master’s programmes of Institutes of Navigation and Maritime Law and Management were given the opportunity to discuss with the guests the current issues of the Geneva Declaration on Human Rights at Sea and other issues of maritime security. Mr. David Hammond expressed his admiration for professional interaction with NUOMA students and wished them success in their future professional activity. Unfortunately, a part of the round-table discussion had to be held in a bomb shelter due to an air raid, and our guests had the chance to experience the reality of Ukrainian university life during wartime.
