On 21^st May, 2025 the Acting Head of the State Service for Maritime, Inland Waterway Transport and Shipping of Ukraine (the State Shipping Administration) Mykola Kravchuk visited the National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” (NUOMA).

During the visit acting Head of the State Shipping Administration Mykola Kravchuk had a meeting with university’s key managers and heads of units providing education and training of ships’ officers.

Acting rector of NUOMA Mykhaylo Miyusov, vice-rectors Oleksandr Shemyakin, Vadym Zakharchenko and Sergey Zaichko, directors of NUOMA’s institutes Igor Vorohobin, Mykhaylo Kolegaev, Vitalii Budashko and Vitalii Ponomarenko, commander of Marinesko Maritime Professional College of NUOMA Kyrylo Zhovtyak as well as heads of responsible for maritime education and training units took part in the meeting from the side of NUOMA.

The actual questions on organization of maritime education and training and on certification of graduates of maritime education and training institutions were discussed during the meeting.

Acting Head of the State Shipping Administration Mykola Kravchuk also was acquainted with the simulators and other educational and training equipment as well as with NUOMA’s general capacity for maritime education and training in whole.

As a result of the visit, the common vision of further improvement of the Ukrainian national system of training and certification of ships’ officers as well as relevant joint activities were agreed.
