On June 25, 26 and 27, 2021 the Black Sea Yacht Club hosted a regatta for the cup of the Ukrainian Navy Commander Oleksiy Leonidovich Neizhpapa, Rear Admiral, Commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces.

This regatta of cruising-racing yachts has already become traditional for our city.

About 30 yachts divided into groups according to their size took part in the regatta. The yacht “Granat” of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” also participated in the regatta. The crew of “Granat” consisted exclusively of the following teachers and cadets of NU “OMA”: Captain of the yacht – D.S. Zhukov, assistant – R.A.Kubitsky, sailors — V. Shulyak, S. Cherkez, A. Tyurin and A. Slobodenyuk.

Three races were held in two days. Weather conditions during the regatta varied from a total calm of thirty degrees heat to a very fresh wind on the last day of the competition. On June 27 wind gusts reached 15-17 m / s. The wind tore the sails of several yachts. Though, thanks to this wind, NU “OMA” yacht came to the finish line first in the last race.

According to the competition results, the yacht “Granat” won the second place.
