The presentation on the exchange program for students of higher educational institutions (Global UGRAD) carried out by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs was held at the premises of NU ”OMA” on October 31, 2017. This international educational and cultural exchange program supports talented foreign students providing an opportunity for future leaders to study in the USA in order to deepen knowledge and learn the culture and traditions of the country. The Global UGRAD program is jointly implemented by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the US Embassy in Ukraine and the World Learning organisation.

The event was attended by Viktoria Mikhailenko, Cultural Affairs Assistant, Public Affairs Section of U.S. Embassy.

The program provides the following financial support: participants’ travel costs to / from the USA, training at the American University, accommodation and meals, medical insurance, necessary textbooks and a monthly scholarship.
The contest for participation in the Global UGRAD program is open and based on the academic and personal success of the candidates.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:

-to have Ukrainian citizenship and live in Ukraine for the duration of the competition;
-to be older than 18 years of age at the start of training in the USA;
-not to be a graduate student at a private or public higher educational institution;
-to have a sufficient English level for learning and communication in the English-speaking academic environment;
-to have a high level of academic performance;
-to have the opportunity to start studying in the United States from the dates indicated in the program announcement (in case of need to study the English language at preparatory program). The contest’s finalists can not choose the program dates themselves or postpone the program to a later date;
-to meet the requirements for obtaining a visa exchange program participant (J-1) to enter the United States;
-to return to Ukraine after completing the program.

Candidates need to register on the website: www.worldlearning.org/ugrad, to access the online application form. Candidates will be able to fill out their application form as well as send letters of recommendation and other documents online. The questionnaires submitted later will not be considered.

The questionnaire should reflect the original thoughts and individual work of the candidate confirming the candidate’s motivation to participate in the program. Plagiarism, others’ thoughts and ideas without proper reference to the source are unacceptable. Identification of plagiarism is the basis for the immediate disqualification of the candidate.
