The charitable Foundation of Boris Kolesnikov started the educational project for students “Seamanship 2018” on November 28, 2017. The ceremonial opening was held in Azov Maritime Institute of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” in Mariupol. Alexander Lysiy, Head of the Azov Maritime Institute of NU ”OMA” emphasized the relevance of the project for young specialists. All leading profile universities in Ukraine in the field of marine and river transport joined the competition.
”Seamanship 2018” is a competition for the support of students from technical universities and resurgence of interest among young people for shipbuilding and seamanship. The best participants will be sent on a business trip to an international industry exhibition.
Students of I-VI courses, full-time studies, studying in the specialities of shipbuilding, marine and river affairs can take part in the competition.
The project is implemented on the basis of competitive selection in three stages: the first two are held in the native universities of participants, the third – in the university with the largest number of finalists. In particular, the contestants are expected to have:
I stage – test of knowledge in technical sciences (February, 2018)
II stage – test in English (March, 2018)
III stage – the project’s presentation by the leading industry experts (April, 2018).
In June 2018, 30 winners of the competition will go to the the International Exhibition of Shipbuilding Industry and Maritime Affairs in Athens Posidonia 2018.
The charitable Foundation of Boris Kolesnikov has been conducting educational competitions for Ukrainian students of technical specialties for nine years now. Over the years, hundreds of children have visited the leading profile forums of the world in Germany, Great Britain, France and Japan.
