From September 6 till September 10, 2021, the delegation of NU “OMA” represented by Vice-Rector of NU “OMA” – Shemyakin O.M., Head of International Cooperation Department – M.V. Chesnokova, a senior lecturer of  Ship Handling Department –  D.S. Zhukov,   and  by representatives of the Institute of Naval Forces of NU “OMA” and the Danube Institute of NU “OMA” visited the Higher Naval School named after Nikola Vaptsarov (Varna, Republic of Bulgaria). The main purpose of the visit was to participate in ceremonial events dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Higher Naval School named after Nikola Vaptsarov  founding.

       During the celebration there were festive events – a march of cadets of the academy, awards to the staff of the academy, the head of the Higher Naval School named after Nikola Vaptsarov, Fleet Admiral, Professor Boyan Mednikarov congratulated the staff of the Higher Naval School with a holiday. The events were attended by heads of ministries of the Republic of Bulgaria and heads of the Varna region. The participants of the holiday also exchanged gifts on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Higher Naval School.

      Also during the visit there was a meeting between the heads of the Higher Naval School and NU “OMA”, during which they discussed the main areas of cooperation and issues of further cooperation between higher maritime educational institutions. The head of the Higher Naval School named after Nikola Vaptsarov, Fleet Admiral, Professor Boyan Mednikarov sincerely thanked his Ukrainian colleagues for visiting the Republic of Bulgaria.
