National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” took part in the XX International Exhibition on Transport and Logistics “Trans-Ukraine 2017” at the exhibition complex of Odessa Sea Port within the framework of the International Black Sea Transport Forum from 27 till 29 September, 2017. The events of the Forum were held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and Black and Azov Seas Ports Association (BASPA).

The Forum brought together XX International Exhibition on Transport and Logistics “Trans-Ukraine 2017”, the International Specialized Exhibition TransRail Ukraine 2017, the Specialized Exhibition “Commercial and Municipal Transport 2017”, the XX International Conference” Transport System of Ukraine in the System of Transcontinental Transport Routes ” as well as the XIV International Shipping, Shipbuilding and Ports Development Exhibition “Odessa 2017”.

At the opening ceremony, Voroniy Vyacheslav, Head of the Service of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine; Mirce Chiprage, Secretary General of TRACECA; Petrovskiy Sergiy, Head of the Standing Committee on Transport, Communication and Seagoing Complex of Odessa Regional Council and others delivered welcoming remarks.

The event was attended by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the representatives of various companies from Afghanistan, Romania and Iran.

The Ukrainian-Iranian Business Forum as well as the presentations of an exhibition of Iranian companies were held with the support of the Embassy of Iran. Manfred Seitz, Head of ProDanube International company made a presentation on the possibilities of navigation development on the Danube. One of the core issues of the International Conference “Transport system of Ukraine in the system of transcontinental transport routes” was the new Silk Road and TMTM.

The following issues were considered at the exhibition: the optimization of the interaction of various modes of transport, creation of an effective model for coordination of interaction between cargo owners, railways and ports, development of a comprehensive shipbuilding and ship repair development programme until 2035; restoration of favorable tax regime on the basis of Nikolayev’s shipbuilding enterprises. The Round Table “Public Transport of the XXI Century” was held with the support of the Department of Transport, Communications and Road Traffic of Odessa City Council.

At the end of the exhibition NU ”OMA” was awarded the participant’s diploma.
