On May 6, the National University “Odesa Maritime Academy” hosted a meeting of the university’s management with managers and representatives of international shipping and crewing companies, which are the university’s main partners in matters of practical training and employment of graduates.

The university was represented by Acting Rector Vadym Zakharchenko, Rector’s Advisor Mykhaylo Miyusov, Vice-Rectors Igor Vorokhobin and Sergiy Zaichko, Deans Igor Burmaka, Mykhaylo Kolegaev and Vitalii Budashko, Head of the Department of Training and Employment Sergiy Martynenko and Head of the International Cooperation Department Vitalii Kotliarchuk.

Representatives of the following companies participated in the meeting from the business side: MSC, Stargate, V.Ships, Alpha Navigation, Eurocrewing, CMA Ships, Marlow Navigation, Columbia Shipmanagement, Univis, Uniteam Marine, ASP Crew Management Services Ukraine Ltd, Danica Crewing Specialists, LLC Integrated Transport Services, and Staff Centre.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the current organization of cadets’ practical training and graduate employment, the present state and future prospects of maritime education in Ukraine, the organization of the Unified State Qualification Exam, and the role of partners in ensuring the quality of education and the further sustainable development of the university.
