A scientific-practical conference “Military-historical work in the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Problematic issues and ways to solve them ” took place in the small assembly hall at Naval Institute of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” on October 24-25, 2018.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss the state, directions, outcomes, prospects and main issues of military history work in the interests of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to make a proposal to the Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to enhance its effectiveness.
At the plenary session, the opening words were presented by A.O. Ursol, Captain 1st Rank, Deputy Commander for Moral and Psychological Security, Rostislav Sharov, Deputy Head of Naval Institute, Oleksandr Veretelnikov, Deputy Head of Naval Institute of Moral and Psychological Support Department and M.V. Miyusov, the Rector of National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”
The conference gathered the participants representing General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Navy Command of 
the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”, higher military educational institutions, military educational units of higher educational institutions, scientific institutions of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as higher educational institutions and scientific institutions of other central executive authorities.
The participants delivered their reports, which included the following sections: “Military-historical work and its aspects”, “History of wars and military art”, “Military historical work and its aspects, “” History of wars and military art”.
Within the framework of the event, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Military History Museum of the 59th House of Officers, where an excursion was held. Upon completion of the conference, a final meeting took place, where the participants heard suggestions on the outcome of the conference.
